It does work - Offline. Online? It has a cloned morphball that appear behind yours to other players. There's issues with getting in and out (such as a player in a morphball not appearing to be to another player, visa versa), major lag, etc.
Morphballs will also deter from what we are trying to do with the mod - focus on gameplay. Rolling around in a ball is a sheepish way to play the mod. We'd also have to rebuild all our maps to incorporate ways for the morphballs to get around - again, if it was possible to get it working well. It's not, and I have no regrets. I want our focus to be on our weapons, and so it shall be - for good reason. I believe we have a diverse weapon set, not found on any other platform, including the original Metroid games. You can customize your formula for gameplay by swapping beams out to make lethal combos.
You don't have to believe me, in fact, I can understand if you don't, but I really think we'll get it working well and make it a good mod that everyone can enjoy.
Thanks. :D
Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
tbqh, the Morph ball in Echoes' mutiplayer was just an excuse for panises to run around and not fight anybody, and I think that would translate directly to Halo, so in a way I'm glad it's cut.

I played a little bit of Echoes MP (honestly.. did anyone play more than a little bit?) and I thought the morph ball was nothing more than a marvelously effective way to annoy everyone else. Especially with that boost ball shit that did massive damage.
Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
Well the released maps had tunnels aroun the sides that were morphball sized :/
Also, since I just remembered, with the destroy objects thing, which # is it for the doors only for the one map?
Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
Don't even get me started on alt-spammers from Hunters. Especially the ones who seemed to have mastered aiming Trace's lunge. :phonegonk:
And if you think about it, being in a Morph Ball hasn't really given any combat advantage in Prime or Prime 2 besides those one or two bosses and enemies that can only be killed by getting eaten as the ball and then blowing up a bomb in them. And all alt-spammers do with it in multiplayer is boost around to either run like a little bitch or just piss everyone off because nobody can draw a bead on them long enough to hit them.

Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
The only Metroid game that I've played in Multiplayer was Metroid Prime Hunters (on the DS). The Morph Ball in that game is useful, yet annoying at times, because they were harder to kill. However, their range of movement wasn't as big, so it kind of equals out there. I find that people used it too much though, and it got annoying. So, I think that you should keep it out of this, but it seems that you have already established that.
