Lookin' good.
Am I the only one who feels a little short changed?
Halo reach only just got released a month Today and yet their announcing a DLC which has 3 maps charged at 800MSP, I realise that Microsoft somewhat has leverage on the prices but L4D2 recently had two entire chapters added their game for a mere 560MSP.
What bothers me if that Tempest looks a hell of alot like one of the maps which were leaked in press screen shots just before release but never found on disc.
For the first time I really do hope they do what DICE did with BFBC2 in that the people who paid up for limited edition gets the content at a reduced price.
Just my £0.02
Well, to look at it another way, Halo 3's Heroic map pack was released at about the same time, wasn't it? I'm willing to bet anything that the Heroic maps were being made before the game came out as well.
jcap, you are such a fucking idiot, just stop. Stop posting jcap.
The addition of more large scale maps would be more exciting if the vehicle combat weren't so uninteresting. The Warthog, Revenant and Ghost all seem to be made of paper and loaded with nerf darts.
Seriously, the Warthog. There are 3 methods of EMP, 5 heavy weapons and 2 grenade types to counter a vehicle that takes around 3 seconds of sustained fire to kill someone. What the shit.
Shameful stuff Bungie. Yes okay the map pack probably wasnt 100% finished, but to be honest, it looks very playable to me. I'm now especially glad I only bought the standard version. I like to think they start on the new maps after games release, or at least after the game has gone gold. By the looks of it, maps were started before that.
Perhaps they will remove level cap on map pack release?
Jcap, you do realize that there's a time in the development cycle called 'content complete'. After that point, no new stuff gets added to the game; only tweaks and bugfixes are allowed. For the most part, only programmers can touch the game now. At this point, it seems like a perfectly reasonable time to transition the rest of the team to DLC, working on either new content or stuff that didn't make the content complete deadline.
So then don't charge for it (not an option because Microsoft is fagass), or release the maps which were incomplete at release PLUS others that were developed after release?
