Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
Wow what is up with POS xbox? I turn on, have my standard setup of a bridge so I try to download update, it fails a few times and then starts to download.
Stops and fails half way through, so I try again. Now for some reason I have the new UI colours, but I only get My Xbox and some Welcome screen.
I've downloaded the $SystemUpdate9199.zip file, pulled out the folder, tried to burn it to a CD TWICE, and it won't load up...Tried to put it on a USB, still won't see theres new updates.
WTF!?

Not really a good thing if it look's worse than it's predecessors.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
I hate when new updates fuck over everything. It seriously is inexcusable with all the supposed beta testing they put this thing through. o.O Anyway, I'm annoyed that Reach's ranks still aren't unlocked. They gotta milk one more day out of it so they can take them off on tuesday, as if a bunch of ranks and armor pieces are going to stop anyone from buying Black Ops if they want it.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
I still don't care about the rank cap. I'm only going to care once I'm a brigadier with a few hundred thousand credits to spend.
Also, I hate the dashboard. There is something slightly nauseating about navigating it, especially the friend's list. It's just not smooth like in NXE 1.0.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
They really fucked themselves over by associating the xbox brand with the color green. Pretty much forces you toward either a black or white interface. Whatever, I really don't give a shit about the dashboard. They decided that rounded corners were out this year and swim-y animation was in. Amazing. I hope they get paid handsomely for being such geniuses.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
Is the only reason why they made a new Dashboard the release of the Kinect? Who the hell is going to even buy it? If I haven't bought a Wii by now, why the hell should the Kinect be any different? I see why it's obnoxious to have a new Dashboard every couple of years (at the least); it's like Microsoft releasing a new Windows everytime you get a new OS. In other words, I hate it when Microsoft uses valuable resources for Dashboards. But whatever. If it's required to run connect, then I'm sure SOMEONE will like it.

Metro UI is awesome. It is smooth, looks good, and performs well. The new Dashboard is essentially a mockery of Metro; Metro has WHITE TEXT on a DARK BACKGROUND. Fuck you Microsoft.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
Well after what, 4 hours I still havent downloaded it, this is total BS. Wtf Microsoft? Even the support link they quote doesnt work, what a shambles.
Also, UI is in style of PES 2010, which was fugly.
Edit, oh yay its finally installed the update, but guess what, the terms of use won't load and it says its unavailable right now, what does that mean? Yup I can't play any online games.
Re: Halo: Reach Discussion
I think we should take this "this dashboard is so awesome not really" to the tech talk or so, aint reach related but yeah.
