Shorthand should only be used on mobile phones. Because mobile phone keypads are fucking bitches.

And only fags use [tags].

That and the fact you do, in fact, have quite a stingy limit to the number of characters you can use in an SMS. Most forums don't do that, and even those that do have large enough limits for the average post to come in well under the designated number.

My cell phone has a 600 character limit...
