So I can laugh at how much Viz messes it up. And while Dattebayo.com is good for anime, they only do Naruto and Bleach, so that's pretty limited. If you want a good place to get anime, try www.bleachexile.com. While they mainly do Bleach, they have a crapload of other anime to download and manga to read. (you do have to register a free account to download the anime)
And this is also a referral. They don't have a lot of the classics, but they still have a large amount of anime to download.

Anime is what we call the Japanese cartooning style. French or Italian anime wouldn't exist. So you're saying the monotone cell shaded American fat bodied four finger hand style hasn't been flogged to death yet?

Oh, and there's also the manga Japan voted #1 of all time: Slam Dunk.

There are only a few anims I've ever been satisfied with
Full Metal Alchemist was alright
Elfen Lied was a trip to orgasmland, minus the ending
FL-CL was great
and honestly I can't think of very much else
Oh, and I loved Getbackers

AH, the Get Backers was great. I got it with netflix randomly and loved it.

I always think about Inuyasha, but I dont really like it. Its basically Dragon Ball Z for girls :/

I just downloaded Elfen Lied. HOLY SHIT. Hardcore.

Edit: 3 episodes in. This is the best anime I've ever seen.
