Aside from the little flashes that happen when bullets hit shields, I don't see any sparks at all.

seriously, look at the effects that happen when you shoot metal surfaces. the effect have been there since the game released.

Jesus christ I always thought there were TOO MANY sparks. Especially for just regular 7.62/mm rounds.
