That may be, but the level I play at, it would never work out. Anything over 26" is overdoing it :] I could understand for easygoing gaming or something, but I still think its not cost effective towards the enjoyment factor.

Actually, I would hate having a single large monitor. It is really bad when you think about practical use.
With multiple displays, you can decide which ones to have your windows on, dock objects to certain areas of the screen, and have certain screens dedicated for specific tasks. For example, I sit at my desk with my Firefox on the middle monitor maximized. My right monitor handles all of my instant messaging, while my left monitor does all the misc apps. When I'm playing a game on my 360 (also something you can't do with a single large display), I use the center monitor for that while I have Firefox on the left monitor.
One thing I emphasized was "maximized". This is important, because with a single large display, if you maximize the window, you will take up the ENTIRE screen. This will not only look incredibly STUPID since web pages aren't designed to be displayed like that (and I doubt you want to rotate your head while reading), but it will make it so you don't have any actual deskspace which is why you want larger monitors and multiple displays to begin with.
Also, yes, 3 monitors is fantastic for video editing.

A single large one for gaming that is... 3 for a workstation setup would be better than 1 in this case.

What is your level of play? Probably p low if you're using any LCD. 180Hz CRT supremacy :realsmug:

On a more serious note, I've heard that CRTs have an effective 0ms response time-- but to be honest, I don't find it worth the game-distracting headaches I get from the screen's flicker.
Re: Multi-Screen Gaming ~ ATTN: THIS IS THE BEST THREAD IN THIS FORUM ~
I use an LCD because I can't stand the horrible disparity between CRTs' bulk vs. their screen size.

Will blow yall away tomorrow...
Edit: Er... Later today?
Edit Edit: So I was at Dusterbuster's house for a little LAN action and we decided to play with hardware setups... He just got a triple-monitor setup running, and a projector setup in his room. I suggested that he put the projector screen above his monitors as a fourth monitor for movies and such, here's the setup result:

(In this picture we have my PC setup using his projector as a secondary monitor on my machine, but when I'm not around he'll use it as a fourth monitor)
Win.

If we wanted to we could take his laptop outside and hook it up to the projector, lol. :smugsome:
There's a severe thunderstorm warning in effect atm and it's raining already, so it won't be today...

I Dare someone to take a screenshot of Crysis on all very high settings with their triple screen and have the FPS showing in the screenshot.
If you can do that and get above 10fps i will be suprised.
