Well, it seems that eventually, this time would come. I would be stupid enough to not back up my HDD, and I would lose everything. I lost the tags, I lost the maps, I lost the textures, I even lost all my logged conversations in Trillian. We have nothing left. I would rip all the tags from one of the maps we released, but I forgot the password.
I managed to find a file on a flash drive that was sitting underneath a pile of burnt DVD-R's labeled "Stuff." It turns out it was a video of some map I was working on a long time ago, called "Maridia."
Here's the video:
It's been fun guys... :(
Update Edit:
This post is to sorta update everything we'll be working on or are already working on:
Maps
We'll be remodeling some of the maps we've already shown you. Derelict will no longer be used as some pseudo spacestation. We have Mirage Station for that, which Lightning is either going to redo from scratch or just alter it to better suit gameplay. Here's what I have on the agenda so far:
.. and there's another Metroid Prime Hunters map I want to do as well. We'll see ..
Weapons (in addition to the ones you've already played with)
We completely overhauled our weapons system. We are using weapons that now can be picked up on the battlefield, and from defeated players. Customize your arsenal! Using the classic Halo weapon system, you can swap out your two beam cannons and mix and match deadly combinations. The HUD system will stay fairly the same, but the icons section on the right will be altered. This will also allow all weapons in all gameplay types, but we might customize the spawn depending on gameplay tests.
Force http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3144/...55e324ec8a.jpg
Jetboost: Using the flashlight key, you can propel yourself for a short distance using the boosters on your back. This is based on the underwater propulsion used in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
SpeedBoost http://www.gsarchives.net/snes/super...rward_left.gif Use crouch to make Samus go faster! This speed will peak at a certain point slightly faster than normal running speed, and will have an acceleration.
Melee You will be able to perform melee with whatever weapon you have now. Beat your opponents senseless!
So there you have it, that's the current state of Metroid Online. We hope you guys are looking forward to the final release of the mod and our first finished map. We'll try to keep weekly updates a-rollin'.
Wow, this really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that this happened, and I'm sad to know that this project might never be where it was before. I was always looking forward to playing this. Are you sure that no other team members have any of the stuff? If not, then it has been fun, and I hope you continue to mod Halo CE in the time to come.

Oh hell...I was really looking forward to some new maps. No one even plays the old ones, curse these Halo CE people who just want to play Coldsnap and Hugeass and Snow_Grove. CURSE THEM ALL D:

It says in the description that it's a map that they're working on, so that could only mean that this thread is cake (aka, a lie), and that he didn't lose everything.

Maridia was one of my least favorite levels in Super Metroid, but hopefully you can make up for that with some good :awesome:ness. Just not too much underwater plx.

Well, sorry to disappoint, but the whole map is underwater. We do have a bevy of additional maps that might whet your whistle, however. I guarantee that we'll give you a reason to try our Maridia map when you see it next though.
I once thought Phendrana Shorelines would be our mod's defining map, but I really think Maridia is it. It's got the perfect balance of maneuverability, vertical gameplay, and environmental uniqueness that will set it apart. Not to mention the fact that it will be the first CE map to go fully underwater.
I guess my little spiel only lasted about 45 minutes before you figured me out, but yeah, me and teh lag were working on that map today. I know it's hard to really make out what the map will be like from that video, but since we're still working on the HUD, I wanted to throw you a bone and this was the easiest way for me to do that.
Don't hate me! ;)

Dang, after reading the first post, I was already preparing my lecture about backing up your data.
Wow, that map is intricate.
...
Have fun texturing it. Looks like it's gonna be a real pain.
