So I just got Counter-Strike: Source (along with DoD: Source and HL2: Deathmatch).
What mods, tools, utilities, or anything of the sort should I get to make my Counter Strike experience the most that it can be?

practice pretty much.
Skins, Tags/Sprays, Plenty of maps, Zombie Mod, and that one mod something such as Survival or something. Level up and get better guns.
Most of those other then Skins, Tags and some maps can be downloaded when you just join a server.
Can you play with Bots using the Zombie Mod?
Get alternate skins for the weapons. Makes the experience much flashier.

PB just made the best post on modacity, fyi.
Well, if you haven't noticed, everyone here is pointing towards TF2, most likely meaning they don't play CS:S. Therefore...I don't think anyone has a clue. Try a simple Google search, if you haven't already. Also, I hear CS:S has one of the worst communities in a video game, everyone swears way too much and is overall just a total ass.
CS:S is a good game if you want to be tactful about it. Team Fortress is just made of Pure win.
Yeah, I admit I have a problem with CSS. I was being sarcastic.
Pretty much what CN said: either find a good pub or play with your friends. If you're a profag, learn how to use and abuse every shortcut/script/bind you can.
And all mods, like Hide and Seek or Zombies are server-based. Any files you need are downloaded when you join.
All the files you need to play on the server are downloaded when you join.*
FTFY, you won't be able to host the game mode yourself unless you download all the necessary scripts from somewhere else.
Unless the custom game modes in CS:S are a lot different to the ones in Gmod..
Most of the custom gametypes are done by plugins with something like SourceMod, or Beetle'sMod. They add cvars to the console, code that executes on certain events, etc.
CS:S is awesome, this thread is full of haters with horrible taste.
But Jelly you're too busy playing EVE online to get owned in css :( :( :(
You're just scared I'll own you you scrub!

Oh no you didn't go there :saddowns:
Excuse me, we're talking about cs:s here. Spamming must cease.
I prefer games.
Jesus Christ, I need to buy Steam games. I'm missing out on all the fun. :saddowns:
TF2 only has kids screaming out gibberish, but not one of it has the word bot =D
heh
"rush middle"
"camp b"
"camp a"
man, dem css taktix
Granted CS is alright when you're playing with friends, but as far as just joining a server and playing goes I can't stand it. I'm a realism nerd, so that doesn't help, and I suck at it so naturally I'm not going to have a brilliant opinion of it; all the same it really never struck me as anything special, which makes me wonder why the hell people treat it like it is. If you want a generic shooter with a terrible community, elitist 'pros' who have no respect for anyone who doesn't know as many exploits as them, and no real amazing features at all, though, go for it. If you want a real shooter, try RO.
I AM SELLING MY ACCOUNT! jk
I can't play it anyways, my computer is a piece of shit. This is what I get for asking my mom for a PC
CS:S is golden. F the haters
I like CS:S and TF2, but I kinda like CS more
CS:S has fucked up hit detection......
