Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
Hello.. Here's my situation.
I have created my map using a tutorial made by some british guy. lol.
The map is modeled and to my standards, I guess. That was using Gmax. Then he tells me to run some J... script. or something..
That's where i got lost.
Anyhow, from there he went to Tool, which also won't work for me.
When i attempt to open it, it says that the program failed to start because vorbisenc.dll" can't be found...
Whatever that is. SO!
To sum things up, the following problems need answered..
1: How do I get Tool to work?
2: WTF is a script and how do I use it?
3: How do I get my Gmax made map model into Guerilla?
Answers or help greatly appreciated! :neckbeard:

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
1. You have to run tool.exe through a command prompt. Do run>cmd and type
CD c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition
Then type
tool structure levels\test\mapname mapname
2. Maxscript? Go to the top of gmax and go to the maxscript tab and hit run. Then download bluestreak (google it) and run the bluestreak jms exporter script.

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
When I type c:\program files\... etc like you said, I get this error.
'c:\program' is not recognized as an internal or external command
operable program or batch file.
I'll try the other thing in a min :)

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
Go find yayap the grunts gmax tutorial. It's a .pdf file too, so you don't need to watch anything, just read. Look for it on halomaps.

Cause you have to put "cd" infront of the command.
cd stands for change directory.
So it should be:
cd c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
It tells me that vorbisenc.dll isn't found :ugh:

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
What operating system are you on?
Reinstall halo ce and HEK. You probably deleted the dll or it got corrupted or something. Also try updating to 1.08 if you haven't.
If you still have the problem I'll upload that dll for you.

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
meep.
that could be a problem.
I'm using Kornman00's HEK and a "free" Halo CE..
Is there a difference?

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
A "free" Halo CE? If you don't have a Halo PC CD key then we aren't going to help you. We don't support piracy. Please explain what you mean by that.

If there are spaces in the directory you list, you need to have the entire directory in quotation marks. If you want you can just copy/paste cmd.exe out of your windows/system32 folder and put in into your halo CE directory. That way you don't have to run that command everytime you want to use tool since command prompt will start in the halo ce directory.

Not for the CD command. It works just fine with spaces.

Re: Gmax, Tool.exe, Guerilla HELP?
Just copy the cmd.exe from your System32 folder to your Custom Edition root directory and you can run it from there, it should automatically redirect to that directory. Then you can type in "Tool Build-Cache-File" and all that good stuff

vista/7 users can shift+right click and open a command prompt in any directory they're viewing.

I never knew that. But I find it easier to just make a proper shortcut to cmd and set the start in folder on the shortcut.
