[WIP] F-99 Wombat

Edit: Changed my mind, first version will be copy from Halo 3 ODST, second version of the vehicle will be the design from "The Art Of Halo 3" book, pictures of that design later, trying to get back into modelling, haven't done anything for a long time.

I will need a lot of help and crit for the second one I do as I will have nothing to copy from apart from drawings :ohdear:

My question is this, what weapons does it use?

Probably, just wondering if there was anything special that it used, I guess that the pod right at the bottom of it in the middle contains a camera and sensors for it to track it location seeming as it is unmanned.

That won't be needed for mine then seeming as it will be manned, need to find a place to put a cockpit Lol. Banshee style cockpit will be easier I think.

Why did you add those things sticking off the sides of the nozzle?

loss of the pod takes away visual interest, fin things off the exhaust nozzles just look terrible and out of place, and you have some particularly nasty surfaces on the wings.

I didnt think the things on the back of the engines looked right, will change them.
It isnt finished yet, hense "progress" so I will be adding the pod and the rocket on the bottom, I am doing that now.

And I will fix fucked up faces and errors.

My heart always misses a beat whenever I see that you have posted because I always expect a big wall of crit.

Thats cool. I might take a try at a high poly model maybe, looks kinda easy in a way. =]

What? I wasn't talking about your model, I was talking about the concept art. And yes, it could be ten times more high poly then what your at.

I know you weren't talking about my model, I figured you where talking about the actual design that is in Halo 3: ODST, if so, then there is no detail on that model tbqh.

But if you are talking about the concept art then there is detail.

Can you do a true first person version (read: detailed cockpit)? That'd be really cool IMO if we had first person dogfights (yeah it's halo flying physics but it's the best we can do :P)

Very nice, some thoughts come up looking at it though. Do you plan on making a hatch with some sort of cockpit on the main body? Or are you just going to have MC climb on in through the geometry... like the Tachikoma's in Hugeass. ¬_¬

theres a map on halomaps called air_combat, or something like that,

It's fighter jets and it's in first person while vsing Ai's.

I am currently doing the cockpit, will see what I can do.
I need to figure out where to put another wheel to support front of it, seeming as it can't hover or anything, and if you are wondering if the bottom wing thing will get in the way of the wheel, well it wont. The wing bit will rotate horizontal when close to the ground.

Oh, and I will make the wing look like it could support the engines Lol. Cheers :)

And I will make something custom, all in good time. I am a lazy person, I will start custom things when I start university or have a laptop so I can get on the computer more often and without being moaned at Lol.

I don't think the Wombat has any weapons, it's an unmanned recon drone.

Well it does now :)

But I figure it would seeming as there are a lot of them flying around, I doubt you need that many if they are UAV.

They're Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles, so it would make sense to give them guns.

They have 2 rockets under it, which are clearly visible. But I might add some extra machine guns under the front of it which will unfold out of the body.
