I lol'd when I realised the PhysX mod had a song based on the AI from portal.
I dl'd and got 2 of my friends to :) Played for an hour and got stuck on level 18.

nvm the 16 fps you see in the screenshot, i was getting 80 - 120 the entire time.
My friend never played Portal before, but he heard about it from me and some other friends. He never had any inclination to get it, but since it was free, I downloaded Steam and the game for him.
He played through it, loved it, and ended up buying Orange Box. Now he's playing through the HL2 games and loving it.
Goes to show you that free games (either offered by publisher or as illegal downloads) don't lead to lost sales. (Well, small games like Portal, not something like GTA or Halo)
