If you can rip stuff now is the time. MS is jumping on all the Youtube videos and taking them down, even ones put up by Bungie themselves at Gamescom. Same goes for Streams on J.TV They've been closed so far I've still got the videos up so they work, too bad I can't rip em XD

Thanks for the videos, but I'll post a full walkthrough when it is in better quality and completely complete. Also, thanks for the advice to rip stuff, and yeah, Micro$oft is pretty ruthless.

Pyong we should make a modacity lobby :) I also just remade lockout (5hrs of work) and I would love for it to be the first release of modacity forging guild, its pretty accurate and deserves a play test.

Lockout would be epic. I'll have to wait till midnight on the 14th to play it, but if I see it up for downloading count me in. :D Gameplay videos of it would be awesome though.

Ellis if you happen to have a jtag you can play the game, within the next 2 weeks there will be a copy for normal modded boxes most likely.
Also, the release date may come sooner :D

Yeah I've heard whispers of pushing up the release. I've heard even people at Bungie want it pushed up since this happened. I suppose we'll see. I've not got a JTag or a Flashed Console. Only one 360 and its one of those new integrated wifi ones.

I know right? This is a completely unbroken streak. Halo 2, 3, ODST, and now Reach have all leaked early. Geez its completely in excusable on MS part. I doubt they'll actually move the date up, which is fine its only another 20 days away anyway. If they did though I would be happy.

Truth be told, I kinda wish they would up the date. At this point it feels like Reach is just waiting on a bus to get released seeing as how everything is done. MS is still probably working with retailers on preparations and etc, my thought anyway.

EDIT: Also I guess I must be late to some information or something (odd because I've been keeping close tabs) that elites are allowed in regular gameplay with spartans. That video posted yesterday showed an allied elite accidentally run over by the players scorpion...or would that be a custom game option and not matchmaking...I'm guessing the latter.

I seem to recall a BWU which had a Q&A about elites in MP and they said *yes*, they could be on the same team, but only in customs, you won't find elites and spartans side by side in matchmaking.

Makes sense to me. Elites are p much cooler and better with their super jump height and regenerating health, who would ever want to be a Spartan?

Well if you want sprinting, jetpacks, armor locking, drop shields, or holograms then you need to be a SIII last I checked :P

Also, Elites are illegal aliens who can't speak english <:maddowns:>.

I've heard nothing of having the ability to make the AI's dialogue not play in reverse, which is really gay. Why record all them silly little grunts with silly little lines if all they're going to do is play the sounds back in reverse :saddowns:? You'd think you would get the option to toggle their dialogue after beating the game on legendary or something. Sure, the reversed dialogues may provide a sort of "spooky" sense to the covies, but you know, maybe it's Sep 14th 2011 and I've beat the game 100x or played countless man hours of Firefight and now I want to hear a grunt scream "I'll bite your kneecaps off!" instead of "Foo spaceenk ruoy etib lli" :-\.

I mean, wort wort wort's up with that Bungie?

Spartans are awesome. The Elites have superior technology but the Spartans -can- and do take them down more often than not. The Covenant have trouble winning ground battles where Spartans are present, so rather than spend time and resources on a battle they just glass planets. I'd rather be a Spartan, definitely. Screw the Elites ant the Covenant. Besides 1 Spartan > Entire Covenant Empire.

Did the beta have armor lock for elites too? I forget now. I didn't play too much invasion during the beta to get the ropes of elites if I forgot about their jetpacks.

Well, it did if you got one of those weird glitched games where Spartans were attacking and Elites were defending. Dunno if that counts though.

Also, one of the leak streams I saw showed Spartans with Evade in forge. So it seems likely that all armor abilities could work for both Elites and Spartans.

I think for custom games you can choose whether you want to force either Spartans, Elites or have it based on the player's preferred species. I saw one video of a CTF game where teams had combined Elites and Spartans. So I'd reckon all armour abilities would have to be available to both species if that was to work. Obviously Spartans have been seen evading so I guess Elites are going to be moving very fast if they've got sprint.

And suddenly I really like this idea. Just imagine a sort of Elite 'Berserker' class in Invasion with a sword and sprint :D

It's been confirmed that all the armor abilities work for both species. In the Beta, Spartans had:
-Armor Lock
-Sprint
-Jetpack
-Active Camo

And the Elites had:
-Active Camo
-Evade
-Jetpack

Now we've got Jetpack, Evade, Active Camo, Drop Shield, Hologram, Sprint and Armor Lock.

Oh sweet, so Elites can be zombies. Spartans are soo fucked.

Apologies for the double post, but I bring with me content in the form of a full 16 player Infection match on XLink. I'm surprised Youtube hasn't nerfed this guys channel so check it out before its gone. Spartan Evade looks sick. I will be honest I was terrified at the initial infection when the guy was rolling toward him. Someone bring me a change of pants. Maybe I'm a wimp but that whole video had me on pins and needles. The tension in those Infection games with Evade is going to be.. incredible. Especially if all Zombies are Elites. I'll just shit myself.

Don't like how people have already found ways to escape the map. Hope that gets patched.

It -was- a custom match. I expect the kill zones in MM maps to be much more aggressive. You can place 32 Kill zones on a map, so I imagine you'll be able to block that off. I still -really- enjoyed the video. Lightning effect looks alright, the clouds are a bit blah. Without them though it would exactly like a DBZ Super Saiya-jin II. Still does kind of.

Plus, it was a forge world map, not a real one. You could easily move the killzones closer yourself.

Exactly, and I was informed by the videos creator if you watch when he's a zombie and slicing, his sword arm IS Kat's Robotic Arm. Robotic Arm in Armory Confirmed. I'm probably going to use it. Gonna be epic.

Does anyone know if you can set up separate load outs for different teams? It'd be cool to do for infection.

From what I've read/seen in past interviews load outs in customs are completely customizable, and I imagine they'd be customizable for both teams. You could always ask the guy doing the infection gameplay. He's been more than happy to answer my dumb questions.
