That show was going to revive my interest in watching anime but it turned gay after the first 5 episodes.

Go watch Gundam 00 then, if you want a more serious and dramatic show. Hits some very relevant modern (and future) issues too.

If you want constant crazy and awesome sorta show I'd recommend Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

No pretty much Gundam Seed destroyed any faith I had in any new Gundam series.

Gundam: Wing, The 08th MS Team, and G were the only series I found to be good. Lot of people hated G but I thought it was a fantastic change while still retaining the mobile suit theme.

I'm very picky with the anime I do like. I found most of it to lack any substance and just border on fucking stupid. I hate most of the ones with magic and other bullshit, save for the Miyazaki films and Death Note.

Wraith, you should really watch Mushi-Shi, its very different compared to other animes and even if you don't like anime, chances are you'll like it.
