Installing Halo updates manually

How should I know? It'll probably update, but I don't think you'll be able to play on XP still.

If you couldn't before, why now?

You can update on xp yes, does work. Still no joining games though :P

Anyone got MS's email OR No. for H2V or games dept. ?

FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK! YAY!

Here's what you do :

1. Uninstall HALO2VISTA and Windows Live gaming from ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS
2. Install H2V
3. Start H2V. Problem will occur. Exit H2V. Uninstall Live Gaming.
4. Install Latest GAMES FOR WINDOWS Dec 2007 Update 01.02.0241.00


5. Install HALO2 Update (3MB) [ No, not the 1.7MB one widely available! )
6. Try to install the Oct 2007 Update 1.1.0324

7. Start H2V

You won't be asked for an update. Enjoy HALOing.

YOU MUST follow the steps in the way they are given. ( e.g. Installing the H2V Update first instead gives a LIVE GAMING Failed to initizlize error )
