    Sound scenario files

    Has anyone tried to create new sound files? I'd like to get some new ones or see if anyone has made any progress here.

    Maybe someone here tried and failed... maybe it can still be done with more ppl trying it out.

    tx.

    btw, you may wanna try a search first before asking every single question... just a thought.

    I agree. Also check the readme included with the H2EK. It is helpful.

    Back to the topic. It seems like as of now we can not modify sound tags or create new ones. "from what i read".. Hope that will change soon.

    I can convert most sounds from h1 to h2, but some fields in the sound tag IDK how to properly convert due to different units of measurement. I tried...fixing...tool a while back to import sounds again, but it crashed at a certain point, and I never cared enough to debug it then

    Re: Sound scenario files

    hmmm... lookup stuff first..damn why didnt i think of that...my google must have broke cause it didnt find "create .sound_scenery for Halo 2 Vista"

    "Sound effects include ambient point sounds (.sound_scenery), volumetric ambient sounds (background sound), and volumetric DSP sound effects (sound environment)"

    so could we create these sound effects and port them into h2?

    Maybe something like this: http://sound-effect-maker.digitbyte-....qarchive.org/

    I'm sure that this isn't quite right, just put me on the right track and i might be able to get this done (by that i mean i know ppl who can do it, i'm chock full of resources). Damn that would be too cool to have completely custom sounds.. i'm drooling on my keyboard at the thought...and if by any luck i can get it done, i'm sharing it here ASAP and totally free... i dont even care about creds.

    Thanks for your patience in answering my posts, i hope to not offend... someday you may need a helping hand too... {snicker}

    Re: Sound scenario files

    no i get that... km is the man for this.. but i do have some resources that might be able to do this (in fact i know they could if its even possible.. which i think it probably is).. problem is I need some direction on what to ask for. The guy i have in mind is my sr developer. Real smart guy.. likes doom alot and he is a god with all this... i'm a computer person.. networks server pc's firewalls routers VOIP blackberry's and so on.. so a little out of my normal experience...

    but if i can clearly ask him what i want then he can do it... just a thought, i would like to add to the tools available if i can...
