Some things about my moniter:
One, it's actually going for more like $550 these days, but I bought it when it was new.
Two, it's a powered USB hub, providing 6 more USB ports to my computer
Three, it's a multi-card reader
Four, the brightness, contrast, and evenness of color are outstanding for a monitor of that size- when you put it next to the monitor of the same size and resolution that my bro bought for $200, you can really see the difference
Five, it has VGA, DVI-D, Component Video, S-Video, and Whatchacallit yellow co-ax video inputs, and I use all of them except s-video.
Six, it has built-in picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture, which puts all those inputs to even better use, especially when I'm playing on my xbox but want to have my desktop available too. (Yes, my xbox is hooked up to my monitor, and it's a thing of beauty)
And Seven (naturally), this thing is sturdy as fuck. There's not much you can do to protect an LCD screen, but beyond that it's invincible. The stand is very stable and easy to adjust, and the case is rock-solid.
So, yes, you guys payed considerably less for a monitor of similar size and resolution to mine. But you get what you pay for. This monitor costs more because it's better.
How's that for "I'm better than you because I have all this stuff", eh?
I feel sublimely elitist and smug now.![]()
