I've never played CMT so luckily im not one of those poo flingers :P,
But I did enjoy the productive updates was slightly inspirational so yah, should keep making content even if the 'head of design' (Masterz) is distracted.
**sigh**
If this mod were ported to PC, then you would be able to use ALL the HRH content, in the stock maps, in any server you chose.
If suppose, a modified BG map with all the HRH weapons were to be released for PC, anyone using the HRH BG could join a server running the stock map, since there's no checksum for Halo PC maps, so all mods would only effect the client.
It would be like on of those cell shade or skin overhauls, except with the new models, textures, particles, and whatever else Bad Waffle wants to include.
In short, porting it to PC would make it a client side mod that could be played on by and individual on ANY map, without having to worry about a lack of players or servers.
Screward, as a former Mac player, I know how mods work. HRH is more than just textures. On PC and Mac versions, the only global aspects are textures, and thus the only thing that would carry over to all maps would be those textures.
Given this, Why the fuck would you want to port it to PC? Tell everyone to get off their asses and download CE. IT'S FREE. And you don't have to replace maps to get mods to work! Seriously, you guys are A) allowing CE to die, and B) cheating yourselves. Get CE. Preach the gospel. Do it.

I think your misunderstanding. I'm saying releases new pc maps, with the HRH models and content. The global maps, would not need to be touched, since the new content would be self contained.
Suppose you released a HRH version of bloodgultch.map for PC. The version released would contain all the new weapons and vehicles, replaceing the stock ones. So if someone had your version of BG, and saw a 16 player server that was almost full, they could jump right in and have the HRH content available to them.
You would need to release a new version of each PC map, but on the plus side, you'd have acess to dozens of servers where you could join any map and be able to use HRH weapons.
Uh, I don't think that's how it works?
If memory serves from my PC modding days, rebuilding a map would cause that map to break online for anyone who didn't have that specific build. You'd be just about as limited as CE in that respect - to play it, everyone would need it anyway. On top of that you'd have people wondering why they can't join a seemingly normal game. You're really not accomplishing much by porting it to PC.
I always assumed that it broke because the new content conflicted with the old. I'm going to try this later, porting the CMT SMG into BG and seeing if I can join online, but leaving the properties the same as the AR.
Edit: Maybe CAD can clarify? IIRC, he use to port stuff to PC all the time.
I don't think so at all. It breaks because the tag values are different - unless there's some freaky shit going on that I'm not aware of, the game shouldn't know you're holding an assault rifle, just weapon ID <some number>. I'd assume all of those would get reordered upon a recompile.
