    [Comptetition] ROFLcopter Rotor modeling contest

here are 3 reference picture of a rotor for a helicopter. i wanna see who can actual model this. you can try to find ref to fill in the holes left by the ref i gave u and there is no poly limit so have fun with it i know u can work off these ref cuz i've seen very horrible images used as refs before. u don't need to model the entire chopter, just the rotor and blades (blades should take too much time u don't have to add the gravity effect on the blades u can if u want). U has til the end of may, May 31, my time, GMT-6: Central America and Canada).

I will also be trying to model it. posting final be in this format.
    Tri count:
    image clay render:
    image wireframe render:

    Have fun =P

wow, I've never seen such a good pic of that before. It's much more complicated than I thought it was.

You need to specify what it's for. If you're modeling with a game in mind, you'll be using entirely different methods to achieve the desired look at a low tri count. If you want people just to model it to the most detail possible than they won't be using those same methods....specify...

    I see a space :@.

Yeh I dont see a point in this. Apart from being time consuming.

    Add an incentive.

I hate people like this, why not model it just to become better, or if you want to get into a job on this, for your portfolio? I am sure you doing school work has no other incentive then getting smarter and achieving better in life, same applies here. No one says you have to do it, so quit questioning on why you should.

I was addressing the point that 'Why would anybody do it if there is no incentive, when they could be poning their skills elsewhere with their own projects'.

I wasnt expecting developers to not be modelling anything until this came along :\

Way to go look like a troller.

E: Now this thread has gone off the rails... just ignore this retaliation post and carry on with your own opinions ot this thread. Thanks.
