    [MAP] Base 2 Base

    I made this map with the intention of focusing on Sandbox's "sky box" and utilizing the air combat aspects while still being able to go it "On foot"...so I came up with Base 2 Base (also called "Ship 2 Ship")

    :The idea:

    Create a decent sized map that one could traverse via aircraft or via the derelict orbital platform...I sorta was inspired by DMT Cairo station for the "on foot" and "in vehicle" action....

    :The layout:

    Each base has 2 banshees and one transport hornet, the transport hornet has a 20 second respawn (because it was prone to getting raped hard by banshees I turned down its respawn timer) and banshees have 90 second respawn timers.

    Inside each base there is:

    *4 MA5C ICWS (20 seconds)
    *2 BR55HB battle rifles (45)
    *2 SMGs (30 seconds)
    *2Magnums (30 seconds)
    *1 missle pod (90 second respawn)

    The "on foot" aspect takes place on a decrepit orbital platform called "Platform Sigma", Sigma has been around for several years and the lack of maintainence has caused the orbital platform to fall apart with some portions exposed and others either falling apart or pieces free floating.

    inside Orbital Platform Sigma there is...
    *2 shotguns (1 extra clip 45 second respawn, 1 per side)
    *2 spikers
    *2 plasma rifles
    *4 plasma grenades (2 on each side of Orbital platform)
    *2 Plasma Pistols (great for taking out hornets carrying flag/bomb guy)
    *1 power drain
    *1 radar jammer
    *4 spike grenades
    *1 SPARTAN laser (on a high exposed area of Orbital platform, aquire at own risk)

    At the given moment the map is only built for objective gametypes:
    *Capture the Flag
    *Assault (neutral as well)

    I'll be adding slayer gametype if enough people play this

    Looks cool, but your third screenshot is broken. You can't use the cache images from halo3screenshots.com. Try downloading them and reuploading them somewhere else.

    Also, I think it would be more popular if you included the slayer gametype- ctf is a lot of fun, but people generally like running around and killing each other more. :P

    yeah duno why HSS.net wont work

    configured this map for slayer, but still want to focus on objective game types, for TS we found that you could pull off a 2v2

    I'm still looking for testers to put it through its new paces and to test it with a larger than 3v3 group

    EDIT:

    here is Sigma Platform...The story behind SP is that its older than Rho and Gamma by 25 years, 26 years ago it was abandoned because it needed constant repair and wasted money...however the schedule they had used to plan the day of the station's scuttle was lost and they had to wait till it was over the ocean due to it lacked a geo-synchronous orbit like Rho and Gamma (both of which are passing through Sigma's orbit during the time of this map)



    as you can see some parts are "floating" away and some areas have been exposed due to illegal salvage operations that have targeted the decaying space station. The spartan laser spawns on the most exposed elbow of this platform.

    edits to the map

    I recently edited the map and removed/added things...list of things that have been altered:

    added:
    Slayer gametype (only TS for now)
    Machine gun turrets (one per base, on top with the vehicles)
    Plasma Pistol
    Sniper rifle (x2)


    removed or replaced:
    Radar Jammer (removed)
    Brute shot (replaced with plasma pistol)

    I'll upload the new map later and feel free to play this with friend and see how it handles, best with I'm guessing 6-14 players (not sure how'd it handle with 16 people)

    ok, I went back in and got S2S to run TS and oddball

    however in TS for some reason blue team spawns in red base and red spawns in blue, this only happens in TS...

    the game type DOES work

    i'll upload it later, my school blocked bungie.net >:0

    ok, after a test to see how it worked, i found it was horribly unfair...with the other team just camping inside their base (then again i did recruit some nooby kids somehow)

    I've tweaked the spawn settings and weapn spawn times and fixed the inside of the stations
