Version Changer

ive run into the same problem, same symptoms and all, but i always thought it was because i was running CE through steam....

I've never had that problem with Version Changer.
Before I had it, I would get that problem sometimes, dosent seem to be doing anything now.
Halo looks the same way if you run it in Safe mode, so maybe it has something to do with that.

I've tried to run it at least 20 times now. The same thing happens every time.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Excuse my bumpage, but I cannot get this to work properly. I uninstalled CE, reinstalled 1.00, updated it to 1.07, and then downloaded the modified Strings.dll on this page.

When I replace the Strings.dll file, it messes up CE. It still runs, but not right. It acts like I have a super-low quality video card, and parts of the menu are messed up. Have a look:

Missing quit button

Missing pic

Terrible graphics

Severly limited video options

If I revert the Strings.dll back to the original, everything works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried just updating it to 1.08 and using the 1.07 executables.

Should be fixed now.

Copy both strings.dll and versionchanger.dll to your halo folder. Overwrite the original strings.dll with the new one.

Dont mean to steal Omega's thread, but would people want to see a version changer in OS?

I think that there should be a version changer in OS that way there is no reason SPV2 shouldn't use OS.

Well, it will still be 1.08 exe. I havent played on 1.00 servers but with my version changer I went and tried 1.00, theres a TON of european servers. I get like 124 ping or less so I'll use 1.00 servers more, however I will only use 1.08 exe.
