The release date has been set at this December 16th for over a year now. First public footage'll be probably be coming out sometime after ComicCon at the end of the month, being that Cameron's going to be giving a presentation there.

    BAH-DUM-DA-DUM! TRAILER TIME!

For those of you like me who can't view it in glorious Quicktime HD

For those of you who can view it in glorious Quicktime HD

It's beautiful, folks. The foliage and landscapes look real, as in REALLY real. Even the CG characters look like they have more to be seen outside of the few quick shots we got here. And hot damn, wouldn't a Halo movie look brilliant like this? Hell, the vehicles at 0:25 look like a Warthog and a Sparrowhawk. In fact, the Sparrowhawk-ish one is actually called a "Hornet".

Edit: According to this one guy, my suspicions about the way the characters were shown here was correct. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/The-A...ope-14448.html
I'll report tomorrow night or Saturday.

If I didn't know better, I would say that the movie was almost 100% real live footage, not only 40% as it's going to be. Like shit, the CGI aliens look extremely real, the emotions, the eyes, everything. This is a movie I'm going to see several times if it's anything near as good as Titanic.

Honestly, I hate the design of the Avatars. They are just fucking annoying to look at, reminds me of night elves way too much. And that was a pretty boring trailer IMO. Very just standard looking action (even though I know it will be more than that, but to a first time observer, aside from the CG, it really is "meh"). Killer CG though.
