Help Installing Custom Edition

Hi guys at Modacity! My friend pushed me into getting Halo for the PC. He talks about Halo all the time and he showed me some cool maps the other day for a game called Custom Edition. I read some Halo forums and found this place so I hope you can help me.

I downloaded the Custom Edition but I am having a problem playing the game. The Halo I installed from the CD plays fine, but I can't get Custom Edition to load. When I start the game, the loading screen appears for a couple of seconds and then the loading screen flashes like 5 times a second while playing Halo music. I updated the game with the 1.08 patch from Halomaps after I downloaded the game.

I just installed Halo on my clean Windows 7 install. I don't get why the CD version works but not the download. I really want to play some of the awesome maps you made. Please help?

Make sure your graphics card drivers aren't forcing anti-aliasing on the game, that sounds like a possibility.

I know a hand-full of people here have used CE on 7, but you'll probably have to wait until at least tomorrow to get a response. To my knowledge, CE runs just as well on 7 as on Vista. Try doing what Freelancer said. Turn off anti-aliasing.

Yeah I had that problem. What brand is your Graphics card? ATi or nVidia?

It's AA. Simple fix: Set to application controlled in your Nvidia or ATI control panel.

Hey guys! I've been busy so it took me a while to get back to your responses. I did a little more searching and I came across another post on the Gearbox Software Forums who I think has the same problem as me. It is a new thread too. LOL

I will try to do your anti-aliasing fix. Is it in the Nvidia control panel? Why does Halo Custom Edition need the fix but not the other Halo?
