    Triggers and Zoom

    Right now with the lack of help in the Saphire UI topic, my return to college and my paying a little more attention to my other hobbies I haven't been doing anything HEK related. This topic probablly won't change that anyway, but I've an idea and a question to go with it.

    Take a weapon with two triggers, each using the same magazine. One trigger would be set to repeat automacticly, the other not. Now, I was wondering if it is possible switch between the primary and secondary triggers by zooming (so you have a weapon that is single-shot when zoomed, full-auto when unzoomed). Another step would be to set the zoom levels to 1 but leave the magnification range at 0 to 0 (so there's no zoom on the gun and it changes fire mode instead.) You might still be able to use the 'show only when zoomed/unzoomed' checkboxes on HUD elements to display which mode you are currently in.

    Is that possible?

    Not to my knowledge. I heard it was possible in Halo 2 Vista, but I'm pretty sure it's not Halo CE.

    basically you want to change firing rate by using zoom, already had that idea and it would be possible, but im too lazy to test what i cooked up some time ago.

    you can do it aswell by using a script that checks for zoom status, then when it is, you let it change weapons (add and delete) with a different one with your preferred fire rate.
    you just have to make the starting animation use a rof adjuster, like the h3 pistol or so.

    with a bit of logic you should be able to make your own script for this, im currently too busy to help you with that.

    there is another method, but i'll get back to that whenever i feel like diving into guerilla again aight

    I think there are a bunch of interesting sounding checkboxes and drop-down-lits in the .weapon tag that might achive the desired effect if you choose the right combination, I was just wondering if anyone had done it. (Hope you see what I mean, I can't figure out a clear way of wording it).

    The only one that is even related to zoom is "use error when unzoomed", which only causes it to be inaccurate if your not zoomed in.

    I was actually thinking more of the drop-downs \ checkboxes relating to triggers when I said what you are refering to.

    Thanks for the advice, if nothing comes up in this topic and I ever get round to working on any map(s) that might use such weapons, I'll try asking him.
