Yes. It's sortof like how vinyl records are making a comeback. The digital age is here, and people are starting to realize it isn't as great as we hoped.

I want to see Valve try something. I've closely observed both ends of things companies do, from IW to Valve, and since Valve is usually up for ideas, I think I want them to try an experiment.

Interesting idea, although I wouldn't reccomend a developer just cutting all ties with the community and just announce a game, then release it.
I'd like to still have some information on what's going on internally, even if the game isn't mentioned once, a la Bungie Weekly Update (seriously, read the updates: there is hardly EVER any new news or updates about a game until near release, they only had about a paragraph devoted to Reach in the most recent update, which is the most I've seen them pump out about the damn game; we don't even know when the public beta is).

I'm not quite sure you read into my idea. Simply put: Fuck the community. They treat devs like shit under any and all circumstances, why work around them?

Also, I will give credit for Bungie not talking about their games too much. It is nice to see how Bungie itself is doing, I guess. Those points are revoked, however, for them acting like the CIA while doing it.

What I'm really mad about is that they're trying to bait TF2 players into pre-ordering L4D2 with a hat which they KNEW would piss some people off. Quite honestly I am tired of seeing ads for L4D2 on youtube and everywhere I go. They can keep it out of my fucking games.

It only serves to remind me of how poorly Left4Dead was treated, and it makes me not want to buy L4D2 more than I already do.
