They're supposedly both good anime. (I haven't watched Kenshin, but I've read various reviews and whatnot) Very different in style and tone, so don't try to compare them. :v

Kenshin is fairly long though, so you'd have to dedicate some time. I've also heard that Kenshin gets awesome towards the end.
