Also, env textures are looking REALLY flat. The blacks are a weird muddy green like all console games, and the foliage looks eh compared to the original.
I have yet to see any black "muddy green" in any games, you sure it's not just your screen?
The foliage is going to be scaled lower than the original due to this being on the console...pretty obvious really.
I'm sure this is all just console optims though. PC should be good, but I'm hoping they did the texture viewing and work on the PC FIRST. I hope we don't get nasty low res textures everywhere because of console priority. Me being me, that would gross me the fuck out.
I'm surprised you haven't seen the absolute bucket loads of pc screenshots posted every where, They have been on pretty much every website going including here so how you missed them I'll never know.
But, good choice on walking aliens. That's what sucked about the first. Everything was flying, and all you did was punch koreans in the face. Yawn.
Another walking alien Yawn.
The thing that made the first game so good was it mixed everything up.
why stick to the generic walking aliens when you could have them move in 3 dimensions instead of the average 2.
Now you get to actually have fun in your open world! Assuming it's still sort of open?
You did in the first game, I enjoyed setting claymores in bridges waiting for the koreans to blow the bridge up.
the tank mission was one good example of open world gameplay, hopefully the sequel won't tarnish the game's reputation.
Also, the powers need to be oomphed up. When I played Crysis 1, the first thing I expected when I threw a korean with Max strength was, for him, to fly through the air, and crash through all the trees and snap them all as he went through them, with a big bonecrunching thud at the end when you can't see him anymore, but you know it's messy.
Nope, throw them like, 12 feet and get shot to death while doing it. Superjump was fail, speed was nerfed, cloak was useless.
Not really, the problem you're describing is called balance, Crytek wanted you to think about what you we're going to do instead of doing a master chief and running in guns blazing.
Seriously, show off your destructive physics, crytek. Let me throw some fuckers through some walls this time, ok?
Check out the GDC tech demo they showed earlier this year or better yet check out the new york trailer.
