ah, fuck.
Maridia is the underwater world in Super Metroid, right? The one you have to lay a power bomb in Brinstar and it breaks a tube open?

Correctamundo. God, I hated that level.

Did you seriously need to quote all the pictures in the entire fucking post?

I don't get why everyone hated Maridia so much. It might have been one of the most difficult areas, but it was also IMO the most atmospheric.

The only reason I disliked it even in the slightest is because I decided to go there without the gravity suit once. :v:

Does it make me a massive nerd that I actually got through most of Maridia without the gravity suit once just to see if I could? :p
Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
Actually, I've done quite a few Low % runs, which is trying to get as little as possible through the game as opposed to as much as possible.
But that's off-topic. Will visibility or movement be hindered at all in Maridia, or will it essentially be like any other level with bubbles and an extra jump boost?

I'm guessing you could call the water effects we'll be putting in visibility hindering with a fog plane in it (but it won't actually be water), but other than that, no. As far as movement being hindered, no, just a higher (sort of floaty) jump and the additional jump boost (via flashlight) will be implemented, or is planned to be. Your guns won't be affected by the water either, so no worries about that. We might add some bubbles to replace the smoke behind the missiles, however :D
I guess you'll see more of this before it ships.
There is white text here. I'm so glad you found it. Bold letters are cool.

Yes they are very cool, and it's obvious that they mean something. Will there be ships with guns on them in the map?
Re: Metroid Online Presents: Critical HDD Failure
mb the transports the pirates come on sometimes? That would be cool as a mp vehicle.
