IMO, the render of the Wraith looked better of course.. Lol. But could you not make the texture more purple like it is in the render Dane made? And maybe make it more shiny with a cubemap if possible.
And it there anyway you can make the texture compile larger so there is more detail?
Other than that it looks awesome and awesome work on the region stuff
Oh and I am onabout this render:
And the hexagons. Can't you make it so that they look like the following picture in-game with the multipurpose?
Oh and it needs more glow coming from the lights on the turret... maybe planes with a gradient and alpha?
looks awesome and regional damage sounds awesome.
I still have to say those lights are amazing. Great job with that. I agree on the fact that the Wraith should be a tad darker than it is now, unless you are clearly going for that color. I'm glad it has those hexagons though. Like the PR looks better with them, the wraith looks SO much better as well.
i think it might be the freckling detail in the diffuse map. it does look a bit off.
This. I'm a big fan of the colors found in Halo 2 in High Charity. Then again, you have stated that you want to be trying new things, so...
But those blues and greens typically found in Halo 1 and that I see on a lot of your models really do make mean powerful alien weapons look like nerf guns, and make honorable elite warriors look like cosplayers, and make massive heavily armored vehicles look like matchbox cars.
But of course, you don't want to go too far like most modern "realistic" games do and make everything brown. Ugh.
Everything in moderation. I think it's possible to use color wisely.
Take note to that ...These words are amazing.
By the way, from seeing this prject from beginning to where it is now. It is awesome. You guys have definately turned from one direction of having a little more experience for Halo to, pretty close, an entirely new one. I'm so glad to have seen this from beginning to end.
