    CS:S and my PC

I dont know why, but the computer Specs say at least 1.2GHz Processor for minimum, but I have a 1.6GHz, my video card is way newer then DirectX 7, and I know I have exactly 1GB RAM, SO WHY AM I LAGGING? I will play the game, and then it lags like hell, did anyone else have this problem?

His graphics card could be one of those DirectX9 Intel failure integrated chips, lag is to be expected. My ASUS EEE runs Half-Life 2 (same graphics engine as CS:S) like a slideshow despite having 1 GB RAM due to its atom CPU and Intel 915 graphics.

To find out what graphics you have, go to the start menu, click on the "run" function in the start menu, type "dxdiag", press enter, then click on the "display" tab in the window that pops out right after.

Also, DirectX driver =/= DirectX shader, maybe you actually have a DirectX7 card and you mistakenly think it's a newer DirectX just because you downloaded the driver. I see that a lot - people think that just because they downloaded DirectX10 they have a DirectX10 capable video card which is not true.

If you have integrated graphics that is most likely the reason. I get a smooth 50-100fps w/
    1.8ghz sempron
    2gb ddr ram
    radeon x1600 256mb

for these amd processors don't look at the 3Ghz, look at the AMD Sempron XXXX+, i.e. if it's AMD Sempron 2800+ it is equivalent to a Celeron 2.8Ghz, the 1.8Ghz is misleading.

and lolz RobertGraham, 1.6Ghz Celeron...really unsuitable for modern gaming.

    Re: CS:S and my PC

I bought this PC last year, so I know its not a DirectX7 Card. I am using an Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family. So that and this shitty Intel Celeron processor isnt even enough to run Vista. Why the hell would they sell a computer with Hardware that wont even work with the system? Its beyond me.

My computer Manufacturer is Compaq and the Model is SR5210NX

This also means I have $173.73 worth of Steam Games that I cant even play on this PC. Just fucking great.

Does anyone know where I can find a GOOD video card that will fit my motherboard? I just want something that will run up to Halo 2
