I've never had any issues with the Sleep function on any version of Windows 7. And I've been using the Sleep function for months every time I'm finished with the PC for the day.

With the exception of the past few weeks, because I've been folding 24/7...

always had problems with sleep on any windows OS we've ever had, my dad uses some alternative hibernate functions or someshit.
pretty similar but doesnt seem to break the OS

You can set which Hardware should not go into sleep mode. Most of the time it was the Hardware's fault and not the OS.

I kinda like WMP12, but it seems to use more CPU power than WMP11. I currently use Foobar 2000.

I heard a lot of good things about Foobar. If you want something visually nice but DX and RAM overkill go for the Zune software.
